HaadThip Public Company Limited and Krones Collaborate on Innovative PET Line Retrofit for Sustainability

HaadThip Public Company Limited, the exclusive bottler of Coca-Cola beverages in southern Thailand, has long prioritized sustainability as a core value. As part of their ongoing efforts, the company operates four Krones production lines, the latest of which is a glass line that emphasizes recyclable packaging to reduce plastic consumption.

Building on this commitment, HaadThip Public Company Limited became the first bottler in the Asia Pacific to retrofit their PET production lines from the 1881 neck finish to the 26/22, 30.40 GME configurations. The switch to these more efficient neck finishes represents a significant advancement in material savings, reducing both preform resin and cap material without sacrificing performance. The GME 30.40 finish is particularly notable for its lightweight design, which maintains product integrity and consumer experience while furthering HaadThip Public Company Limited’s sustainability goals.

The retrofitting project involved the seamless installation and commissioning of three Krones lines within a one-month period. This was achieved through detailed planning and close collaboration between HaadThip Public Company Limited, Krones, and key suppliers for preforms and closures. The success of this rapid implementation has drawn interest from other regional bottlers, eager to adopt similar sustainability measures.

With this project, HaadThip Public Company Limited has once again demonstrated how innovative technology, and strategic partnerships can come together to achieve long-term environmental goals.
