Nestle Waters’ rPET Water Bottle Joins Digital Recycling Trial.
A new recycling system had been tried whereby consumers could scan QR codes or stickers on packaging to trade in for money. Such trial process took place in a small town in Powys country, South Wales, United Kingdom, whereat the town’s population of approximately8,009 persons could participate in the Scan | Recycle | Reward Digital Deposit Return Scheme (DDRS).

This project accepts the recycling of beverage packaging from a variety of materials, including glasses, metals, PET plastic bottles, and cardboard boxes. Said project is materialized to demonstrate that the adoption of technology for use can inspiringly stimulate people to have a desire to do more recycling.
One of the brands participating in this project is Nestlé Waters UK. Over in the past year, the brand attained its goal of producing 100% rPET plastic bottles in all sizes. The Company gave an account that the quantity of PET plastics for reuse in the productions of water bottles had significantly been reduced.
