
Thai Union Ranks Number One in Food Product Industry Sustainability on the 2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
Thai Union Group PCL (TU), a global leader in seafood, has been rated number One in the ranking in the food product industry on the 2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), with an overall score of 85 as of 23 December 2024 . This recognition indeed reflects Thai Union’s commitment to operating with responsibilities under its SeaChange® 2030 sustainability strategy.
Thai Union has been selected for inclusion in the DJSI for the 11th consecutive year. DJSI are global indices assessing the sustainability performances of thousands of listed companies whereby the company was ranked Number One in the Food Products Industry on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
Thai Union, for this year, receives a 100% score for its sustainability on the aspect of the corporate governance and economic, environmental and social dimensions in nine areas which are: 1. Transparency and Open Performance Reporting; 2. Identification and Prioritization of Issues being Important to Business Operations and Stakeholders, both Positive and Negative; 3. Risk and Crisis Management; 4.Supply Chain Management; 5. Tax Strategic Actions; 6.Environmental Policy and Management System; 7.Biodiversity; 8. Human Rights; and 9. Health and Nutrition.

The goal of the SeaChange® 2030 sustainability strategy, which consists of 11 commitments, includes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 42% in Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2030 and the achievement of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050; ecosystem restoration in which Thai Union will provide a budgetary support of THB. 250 million (over USD. 7 million) to protect and restore key ecosystems.
