TaipeiPLAS Hybrid to Debut This September

Affected by the pandemic, the 17th Taipei International Plastics & Rubber Industry Show (TaipeiPLAS), co-hosted by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), has been postponed until September 28 – Oct. 2, 2021 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (TaiNEX 1). To help those 400 exhibitors who already signed up for this trade show extend their business opportunities, the TaipeiPLAS Hybrid, a new exhibition format, will be launched this year.

The registered exhibitors will be granted free online exhibition booths, which upgraded packages will be available for order, targeting to help exhibitors enhance their online marketing plans. The application kit will be ready in early May and seminars for the online exhibition will be held in Taiwan mid-May. The organizers aim at teaming up with all exhibitors to interact with buyers without any time and geographical constraints.

In 2020, Taiwan plastics machinery industry reached US$899.57 million in exports, ranking among the top six exporting countries in the world. Last edition in 2018, the TaipeiPLAS accommodated 497 exhibitors using 2,586 booths and attracted nearly 20,000 domestic and foreign buyers, making it the world’s top six, one of the top three plastics and rubber industry exhibitions in Asia, and the most important platform for Taiwanese suppliers to expand business opportunities.

This year’s TaipeiPLAS takes “Shaping New PLASbility” as the main axis and “Smart Manufacturing” and “Sustainability Cycle” as the main themes. This hybrid event will present a complete supply chain of Taiwan’s plastics and rubber industry. Following the market trend to go virtual, the organizers have also initiated a series of online activities as a warm up for this trade show, including: podcast, issues on market trends and their relationships with people’s lives addressed, PLASpotlight video series, and market outlook webinars.

What’s more, this year’s “TaipeiPLAS” will be also held in conjunction with “Taipei International Shoe Making Technology Show (ShoeTech Taipei)” so as to maximize industry strength and exposure for both events. Through the parallel mode of physical and virtual exhibition, it is expected that tens of thousands of buyers from home and abroad will be attracted, coupled with more than 45,000 visits at the online exhibition.
