ENGEL DIGITAL SOLUTION DAY INJECTION MOLDING IN THE AGE OF AI

On March 24, 2026, ENGEL Machinery (Thailand) Co., Ltd., held a seminar on the topic of the “ENGEL Digital Solution Day – Injection Molding in the Era of AI,” wherein attendees could witness the ENGEL’s latest digital solutions in plastic injection molding technology. On hand to welcome the seminar attendees were Mr. Markus Fuchs, President Southeast Asia ENGEL Group, and Mr. Aram Tongurai, Managing Director of ENGEL Machinery (Thailand) Co., Ltd., with Mr. Thomas MAIER, Sales Manager, ENGEL Digital Solutions, being the person to hold discussions on the ENGEL’s change into the era of digital transformation. In addition, the ENGEL Team held demonstration on the WINTEC e-win machine at the ENGEL showroom.
Mr. Aram Tongurai, Managing Director, gave his account on ENGEL’s goal in holding such seminar that it was to drive the digital and AI technology into the plastic injection molding industry in Thailand because ENGEL had a wide range of automated machinery. At the ENGEL Digital Solution event held last year in Austria primarily attended by European customers, a variety of solutions were placed on exhibition. Therefore, ENGEL planned for its key speaker, Mr. Thomas MAIER, Sales Manager, ENGEL Digital Solutions, to travel to Thailand to educate customers in the plastic injection molding industry about the transformative technologies of the digital era. This would enable manufacturers to improve production quality, reduce costs, and minimize waste. A primary objective for ENGEL’s Digital Solutions initiative is to develop injection molding processes that are efficient, cost-effective, and energy-efficient.

“The Smart Machine function directly helps manufacturers compete in the global market. Currently, competition is intensifying. What the business establishments ought to take into account are to minimize waste, reduce energy consumption, and ensure real-time data analysis of production lines. This is essential for accurate planning and cost management, maintaining competitiveness. Always keep in mind that customers demand quality, cost-effectiveness, and accurate traceability. ENGEL offers iQ weight control, a system that maintains a consistent volume of molten plastic during injection into molds, even when affected by environmental factors. It constantly monitors changes such as mold water temperature or the type of plastic pellets, etc. Or there’s the iQ clamp control function, which helps in finding the optimal mold compression force, saving energy, and EVA (ENGEL Virtual Assistant) solutions. EVA acts like an ENGEL GPT, and currently, EVA is like a Service Technician with knowledge of machine operation, maintenance, and more. It can answer questions in any language for users directly, giving users the opportunity to learn with EVA in every aspect of plastic injection molding machines. In the future, EVA will develop further into a Processes Engineer to better meet user needs in solving plastic injection molding problems, concluded Mr. Tongurai.

ENGEL is constantly developing Industry 4.0, and we have new solutions to address many issues. Initially, customers can contact Sales Department of ENGEL Machinery (Thailand) directly.
